Being serious for a moment, yes things are bad.
It will be interesting to see how the WT interprets what is to come for the U.S and Britain since they have painted themselves into a corner by saying there will be no other world power.

Watchtower: You Need To Clean Your Organization, NOW!
by metatron inthe leaders of jehovah's witnesses are faced with a dilemma: they endlessly praise themselves as a 'clean' organization that has god's approval while dealing with the day to day reality of internal corruption, barely hidden decay, long term serious sins and a loss of vitality.. it should be obvious that there are countless elders going thru the motions simply to please their families - and much the same is true of publishers, as the society's own statistics manifest a profoundly unproductive preaching work.
worse yet, there is plain evidence of outright disloyalty as confidential documents pop up continually on the internet.
want a new elder's manual?

To Dissassociate or just Fade into Inactivity ? Your Choice ? Reasons ?
by flipper inthis has been asked before, however i thought it may be good for newer members of the board to read some of our reasons on how we decided to exit the jw cult and why we decided to do it the way we did.. first off - i have been faded for almost 8 years.
essentially i decided to fade into inactivity and not da because i have elderly jw parents who would shun me if i did get dfed or daed myself.
also- i like keeping open the possibilities that some of my many jw relatives may in time start doubting and have questions and reach out to me in my inactive state.

I find JWs difficult to be around. I bumped into one this week who inquired as to whether we get out in field service. I replied that we 'do our own thing'. They just can't not bring it up; it's like a form of tourettes for them.

Iron Chariots
by Mickey mouse inwith thanks to stephen fry for pointing this site out on twitter http://wiki.ironchariots.org/index.php?title=main_page.
iron chariots is intended to provide information on apologetics and counter-apologetics.
we'll be collecting common arguments and providing responses, information and resources to help counter the glut of misinformation and poor arguments which masquerade as evidence for religious claims.. the complexity of issues surrounding religion ensures that any proper assessment requires us to delve into a number of philosophical, historical and sociological topics.

- apologists who feel that their "pet" argument is above reproach
- individuals of any philosophical ideal who have an interest in religious studies

Aug. 15th WT - WT Society Dissing Internet Again - All JW's Beware !
by flipper inwe always know when the gb or wt leaders are nervous and worried about potential alleged " threats " to jehovah's witnesses - because they repetitively keep mentioning these perceived " threats " in talks at assemblies or in wt articles constantly.. the " witness only " august 15th wt is no different.
in a non-study article entitled " the internet - making wise use of a global tool " once again the wt society instills doubt and fear into witnesses by " warning " them about use of the internet.
3 " while the internet can provide valuable information, save us time, and serve a useful function, it can also misinform us, consune an inordinate amount of our time, and corrupt us morally.

I liked Seven Pounds.
The Avengers was grim.
I hated The Remains of the Day but I have just realised that I was still a card carrying dub when I read it and the theme may have angered my subconscious: "A butler who sacrificed body and soul to service in the years post World War II realizes too late how misguided his loyalty has been". Maybe I need to try that one again.
Edward Scissorhands. Again, I wonder if I would appreciate this more now as I only saw it at the cinema and that was over 20 years ago.
